Just when you think the world is awakening to a new consciousness of preservation and keeping nature as untouched as possible comes this devastating report from ABC over new logging trials in the Huon Valley of Tasmania. It is sad, depressing, immoral and gross carelesness. Where is the education, where is the thought for the next generation and where is the inner consciousness of people who allow such things to happen? I thought I’d blog about this to voice my opinion, it saddens me deeply, it truly hurts to even hear about this.. I’ve visted the Huon Valley in the summer vacation of December 2003 and January 2004. Its a staggeringly beautiful place. Words fail me even to think of the beauty, the flora and faun of the Huon valleys and the lower Weld Valley. It is truly mesmerising!

Why do we write blogs or journals?
It is not because people wish to berate others but merely to express their feelings, thoughts, to share information with the world be it good useful or maybe just a casual banter. People write blogs and journal because that is one way of keeping in touch with their friends and family and loved ones or even strangers. Some write to promote concerns about issues happenings injustice or merely for educational purpose. I strongly believe writing weblog should be fun, should be a feeling expressed right out of the heart without having to worry about ‘Is big brother watching’ — unfortunately he always is… always. In the recent past I have had a few issues and been asked to take down a few entires I had written…sad but thats how the story goes.
After what seemed like a long break I seem to be getting into my Photography hobby again. The backlogs from previous photography trips are a bit intimidating. I have put aside a lot of photos taken over the last 3-4 years majorly as ‘will do later’. Digital darkroom processing is fun but not when you have over 10,000 photos to play with. I am not saying they are all ‘keeper’ shots but you know what I mean. And as with most things the more you use it the more you learn and I have learnt a lot in some areas of Photography and like every other thing you go through phases when you take a lot of photos and when you don’t. Seems like I am coming out of one. Part reason again goes to my Macintosh. They show you what you can really do with graphics. I have been processing some images on my powerbook and they are really vivid and clear and the processing very efficient (compared to Windows).
