Last weekend we were lucky to get free tickets to the Goddess Divine Energy exhibition at the Art Gallery, NSW featuring Hinduism, Buddhism, Tantra, Chakras, Yantras, Mantras and Mandalas. It was absolutely fascinating and one could clearly see the effort that had been made to put this whole presentation together as some of the stone sculptures were flown in from different parts of India, Tibet, Nepal and some archeological finds of the Indus valley — the oldest clivilisation that walked this planet… the twin cities of Harappa and Mohenjodaro, which now belong to Pakistan. Unfortunately though we left it too late to go to the Art Gallery and it was somewhat crowded but that aside it was such an amazing and esoteric experiences.

Very shamelessly, yet again… I gave in to my minty lusty last night. Yes, yet again. Mint version 2 works a charm and is a lot faster than its predecessor. Smooth ola-la rounded corners, row hovers, diagonal hatch separators, and overall a lot more readable interface than before. Here is a quick run down of whats new in Mint 2. Well done Shaun.

Although its not as hot as it was yeterday but fresh spot fires in west Pymble, north Turramurra, south Berowra, and parts of Mount Ku-rin-gai played havoc stashing away 900 hectares of bushland! Fortunately there hasn’t been any property damage. F3 has been paralysed most of today and the Pacific Highway has been closed off and on and at times the traffic queue has been as long as 10 kilometers long!! There were fewer trains between Sydney and Newcastle. There were lots of birds out, surely more than normal and a big Iguana on Arthur Street… the cabby almost ran over it… it was roughly a meter long. Wish I had my camera handy.

The temperature in Hornsby reached a sweltering 41°C soon after midday. Extremely hot and sultry!! Unbearable! Luckily most knew it was going to be a hot day and were prepared. But no one was prepared for the bushfires right down here so close at Mount Ku-ring-gai. The scary bit… I am not too far from Mount Ku-ring-gai Chase and given the bushfires have been burning for a while it *does* worry me. Good news though, the fire crews and the water bombing helicopters are on the thankless task and doing the best they can. There doesn’t seem to be any threat to property now but it still feels a bit uneasy. A little price one has to pay living this close to the National Park I suppose. Well least you’d know if there were no updates made on this site I might have gone up in flames lured by the devils firely charm.

So we went car shopping last night… there was this nice little Volkswagen Polo, small, blue, cute, advertised through a private sale. Looked practically unused (on the web), or a rather well maintained seldom driven car. We had our eyes on it… and we were going to go give it a whirl. Booked. Appointment made.

Do you complain about the quality and chores of your life everyday? Chances are you do to a degree. We write that off as ‘being human’ and perhaps it truly is, but have you ever paused to think about some of the less fortunate people, those that live in this very human society of yours and mine but are rejected, ostracised and labelled gender-blender trannies, Transvestite, Transsexual? You say you don’t know, don’t care or don’t hear much about them? Chances are you meet a few daily, totally unaware since they stay locked within their walls of fear of being ridiculed by the very ‘human society’ of yours and mine.

Oh such a lovely weekend went by so quick again… from the lovely huge meatosaurian meals at Ribs and Rumps to the very home cooked BBQ with friends… don’t weekends roll on too fast?
Now speaking of food and trying out good receipes… thought I’d try some of the software that is available for mac. There are a whole heap here at Pure-mac but some of those webpages look fairly out of date. I have tried Mac Gourmet and Connoisseur and neither take my fancy. Am off trying Organized Gourmet and Kitchen. Whats your favourite gem to this end?
