Archives page for Regulus

Think I just had a brilliant idea! I have them every now and then :D . The aim of this little mini tutorial is to show how to create an Archives page in Regulus as shown in the image below.

As a visitor of my site you’d probably be well aware that I change look and feel of my site occasionally. These are called themes within WordPress the engine that runs this site. There are many free and paid WordPress themes floating on the internet but it isn’t always easy to find one that suits ones every need. And among a select one that I like Regulus from Binary moon has a rather soft spot for me. Why Regulus you ask? Its squeaky clean, really simple and conforms to a Strict DTD. But it does lacks an in-built archives page option. After leaving a comment for Ben I decided to have a crack at it and it took me less than 5 minutes to have this up and running. So if you’re using Regulus and want an archive Page get ready. I promise it’ll be less than 5 minutes to get you going.

Rocky Horror Show

Spoilt that we are are, Joe kindly rsvped D’s invitation to the preview of “Rocky Horror Show” while we were in Europe. It sure was a delight to go to the preview and looking at the crowd clearly revealed that many had made an effort to dress up in a rock horror theme. :D We however, weren’t too adventurous as getting to Star City in the peak traffic right after work was a feat in itself not to mention the looney cab driver whose driving skills surely made us ill-at-ease. But we made it in time except for a little heart-racing, thanks to the cabbie. Phew! We went up to the Ballroom for a cocktail and some nibbles. There were the usual speeches and door prizes and then headed down to the newly re-modelled theatre/auditorium.

Eiffel Tower in sight

We followed down the historic Seine river for a few minutes and a couple of turns in and out and suddenly I spotted the monumentous Eiffel Tower standing in all its glory… What a masterpiece… I noticed the driver look in the rear view mirror to catch a glimpse of my elation…I curtailed my jollity for the moment and reclined back on his leathery upholstered back-seat… Ahhh I sighed like a grown up with contentedness and relief now that I had finally witnessed it with my own eyes. The excitement and the joy was so overpowering it was hard to bottle up, but I did very well even if I say so myself :) . we’re at long last in the fashion capital of the world, we were indeed in the country of Ratatouille, the city of Musée du Louvre, L’Arc de Triomphe, Moulin Rouge!

Landing in Paris – Charles de Gaulle

And soon we were boarding another British Airways aircraft. This time the flight was going to be a nice and short 40 minutes! In my humble opinion Terminal 4 at Heathrow is too congested. Both for take off and landing. We taxied for a while till we got out close to the airstrip and waited our turn to take off. There were flights taking off almost every 45 odd seconds at 9 on a Sunday morning! Finally, we were air-borne having a lovely bacon sandwich with café au lait flying over the Queen’s Windor Castle and then over the English Channel and soon we’re in the French air-space. The aircraft was starting to descend and I was craning my neck from my window seat to spot the Eiffel Tower even though we were miles away. I was passionately curious.
