Cairns – Tropical North Queensland

Cairns Tropical North Queensland Not long to go now before we head off to Cairns. We are all very excited about our upcoming trip. We did have the luxury of visiting Sunshine Coast, Queensland earlier this year in February even though it was a short holiday. Holidays are never long enough are they? It was a lovely few days of soaking up all the decadence we could at the lovely sun drenched beaches of Noosa and picturesque hinterlands of Maleny and Glass House Mountains. Queensland is beautiful. Fascinating! Stunning! No wonder they say “its beautiful one day and perfect the next“.

New South Wales is lovely but Queensland is just stunning. It really is… and now you know why I just cant wait to get on that plane and be in that beautiful paradise state of Queensland yet again. And in the company of loved ones its heaven on earth.

  • Oh it is lovely there. You remember I went to Cairns in 2003 when I visited you?? Gosh, seems like yesterday but really too long ago. Make sure you go to the “Reef” and take the train ride to the rainforest. Simply lovely. Good shopping there too. I bought my black opal there and looked at a lot of didgeridoos. You are going to have a blast.

  • I was looking at that photo and thinking that it really looked like one of Al’s HDRs… then I read the credit. Al used to be my boss – small world!

Have a great trip I haven’t been up to far north Quennsland in a long while, but do love it up there. *Jealous!*

  • I can’t wait!! And I hope I can do justice to the photos when up there. Ah some more here. The hues are *just* amazing to say the least! Wonder if you bought your Black Opal from here?

Cam, how funny is that. Small world indeed! You might like to flick him(Al) and e-mail and tell him he’s getting big in the Cairns world! :)

  • I don’t think it was that place but near the beach front. I’ll bet it may have come from there though.

  • The lovely-lovely D has booked our trip to Cairns. Oh My God! We’re so ecstatic. I can’t even start to tell you… The only pressing need is that we need to fit everything in such a short space of time as we are extremely busy, but hey you can never be too busy to take a paid luxury ride to La Cairns.

  • I’ll keep my eyes peeled Nan :)

  • Hope you have a great time and keep us posted. I went to Cairns as a teenager. We went snorkeling on the reef and it was beautiful and also on that train trip that Nan mentioned.
