It would be a good idea to tie all of Ruth and Andrew’s wedding related posts in one place. So here goes:

It was about six in the evening when we walked back in the Boathouse Restaurant… the place was immaculately set and looked very nice. In the short time between the wedding and the reception, you’d remember me mentioning the sun being out followed by the promising rainbow — but by this time it was raining again. It started off with a light drizzle and kept alternating between heavy and light pours. We were inside chatting, congratulating, jubilating and having a good time… it was fun to meet so many of Ruth’s childhood friends and their partners some of whom I had met earlier in Sydney. Loretta & David, Katie & Gavin, Nick, Laila, Rebecca, John, Jake… the list continues. We got to meet a whole new circle of her childhood friends and Andrews family and some of his friends too.

It was three in the afternoon. We were at the Boat House in Noosaville mingling with friends, family and loved ones to share in Ruth and Andrew special day… such a privilege indeed. There was a vague hint of a rainbow in the sky. Soon we heard lots of smiles, squeals of joy and I could tell Ruth was about… that long awaited beautiful moment was upon us. The bride had arrived — she looked really beautiful and busting with joy from within… what a precious and memorable moment it was. The celebrant started in earnest.

Saturday was Ruth and Andrew’s big day. The ceremony was to be held at Maison La Plaga Grove in the backdrop of the Pacific ocean skirting the hills in the horizon. Noosa is truly gorgeous, you’d already know this if you’ve been up there… It poured on and off all day. We had wandered down for a walk earlier in the day to the Noosa Heads when there was a short respite from rain. The sky had cleared out as you’d notice in the photo below but in just about fifteen minutes from taking this photo we were running for shelter. It pelted down so heavy we gave the leisurely walk down Hasting street a miss and ran back to our car! Good thinking Ruth and Andrew for having an alternative arrangement in mind!
Indeed, we’re off to Noosa for Ruth and Andew’s wedding and a short holiday! Life is too short to absorb youself in work all the time. Past week has been very busy on many accounts and to make matters worse I fell sick early on this week. It started off with a throat irritation like they always do and then landed up with a secondary infection in my throat. All drugged up, and hallucinating but should be OK soon. Touch wood.

March 2007. Its officially Autumn, soon the clock goes back an hour. But the sultry summer is far from over. Saturday was a very hot 37° C up here in Hornsby. Sunday night we had dazzling claps of thunder for two long hours all around Sydney. What a spectacular display in the night sky but at times the shards of lighting felt like they’d land right next door.
Christmas came and went all too quick. Gusty cold currents from the Antarctic south landed snow in parts of Tasmania and even right down at Victoria where many bushfires were ablaze at the same time. It has been a bizarre summer, anything but hot and sultry baring a few occasional days when the humidity soared. Given how comfortably we abuse our planets eco-system this shouldn’t really come across as a surprise.
I just got mail and am all too excited to share it with you…
…we have seen some amazing monuments from mosques and Hindu and Jain temples to the unforgettable Taj Mahal as well as the narrow alleys of old Delhi including a spice market. Tomorrow we head to a national park to try to spot some tigers — apparently quite rare to see…
Catching up with Jac and Lisa is always so much fun, its a shame we don’t do it enough. Although, truth be told we seem to be following a little gastronomic pattern of gorging ourselved with plentiful enough to skip breakfast, morning tea and lunch the next day whenever we seem to go out. Surely no complaints can be had of the finger licking good food of The Clove but what more when one goes to the premier wine bar of Sydney — Winebanq and then follow it up with a traditional French cuisine at our all time favourite — Tabou in the company of lovely friends.

Lisa and Jac at Tabou
The southern end of Central Coast New South Wales has some of the prettiest beaches that are yet to be explored by most holiday makers. There are many hidden gems along the way, some beautiful surf beaches, breath taking panoramic vistas, captivating lookouts, meandering drives through scenic routes along the lazy old loving pac highway.

With little sleep and a lovely but hot and busy weekend (that wasn’t meant to be a complaint) and apart from starting work a little after half past 6 this morning I am a b-i-t exhausted. *yawns* Y-a-w-n-s again!! Y-A-A-A-W-N! But I’m looking forward to meet all you cool cats and can’t wait to discuss the next leg of our to be Death Valley experience! Maxine’s pick for the night Lord Roberts Hotel (in line with leather boots, cowboy hats, guns and rough trade [1, 2]*ahem*) for drinks and then onto Bar Reggio to satisfy our inner man with much amoré. Hey I even bought myself the Beach Boys to get in the mood. Its summer too… What can I say…
Lisa, Congratulations!! I have been looking forward to redQueen, since the evening you told me!! The design is simple and very sauve! Great colours! Awesome job!
UPDATE: Oooh there has been a little update to the sequel of emails floating around… hope you keep up with it.
Randwick (your chance to stalk us now) here we come!! The very friendly Josh took our booking over the phone. Thanks for organising this Maxine and David and the rest of us all glam bois and gurls for you will be gracing the occasion in your stilettos and feather chapeaux. Here we come… watch for us… we will be screaming, yelling, ranting and raving and pickin’ on each other down the bar and getting merry on copious amounts of lime topped coronas before we try our hand at rolling the ball down the right alley… given the great mix of bowling virgins and virtuosoes in our group I am expecting sheer excitement and euphoria in our hired shoes(we must wear in order to bowl, eeeew!).
Hope you’ll look out for our flickr fest. No ones been talking about what they are going to wear tonight.. it makes me rather anxious … I must know these things in advance as you know! For security reasons please do not wear nipple clamps in the bowling club! Rest should be easy we are all rather flexible of body and sometimes mind!
You can tell we are all having way too much fun when I don’t write or there is so much to write I rather go without. No time for updates (Note to self: “Must keep buffer draft post handy”) and there are php errors on the inner achive pages as Cameron rightly said this arvo — “You are hardly online these days”. Hmmm. Besides its the silly season too. But whatever you do don’t miss out on the flickr luvin‘. David, Rish and I had a rather nice evening out last night, ferry to Circular Quay from Mosman followed by cocktail at the Blu Horizons where we met Maxine up in the himmel and then back to planet earth for some Wagamama and laughter galore all the way. The ferry back was fun too. Rather choppy drive and a bump or two on South Cremorne wharf and a few handpicked ones along the way but we are very accommodating you know.
