Friends with money

a still from the movie Friends with MoneyWe finally watched ‘Friends with Money’, after all the goss and rave thats been going around. About a week or maybe two earlier, I remember watching Chris Murray’s review on the movie on sunrise telly, he’d given it a rating of 4 out of 5. A good satire. The film surely has a lot of ‘modern’ comedy very carefully placed of sharply observed situations of the new millennium.

Nice storyline, roles played by Frances McDormand, Jennifer Aniston, Joan Cusack and Catherine Keener are all very interesting, and very real and down to earth. Catherine’s role seemed to stand out very well in amongst the rest and hey she evenuses a mac. LOL. Most scenes end pretty abrupt and lets the viewer draw their own conclusion. Nice touch. The world is gradually entering a non-judgemental era! Amen! … back to the movie review… its quite different from your regular Hollywood slapsticks. Do watch it, its different and fun..

  1. Ever since I saw the preview for Friends with Money (a long time ago now) I wanted to see it, but sadly such films are not so popular in Bangkok. The cast alone makes it worth seeing since I love them all - even Jennifer Aniston.

Maybe I’ll acquire it through other means :)

Does it usually take a very long time before they actually screen in the local theatres? I remember seeing tons and tons of people selling movies of every kind and language in Brunei couple of months back…. on DVD for $2 each!! Of course, you’d occassionally hear people coughing or talking to each other or mobile phones going off… oh, I don’t know if its even worth the hassle?

I agree the cast is really good and strangely funny with things they say and do… nah don’t want to be a scene spoiler :) and oh a little update also heard from friends who didn’t quite like it. hmmm… all very confusing really.

‘Friends with Money’- seems like it’ll be a while before it comes to Mumbai!
    Shall watch out for it.
