UPDATE: Google chrome is now available for download. The Speed and functionality on the beta software is noteworthy. Still working out the beta browser before I write more. It looks promising.
Canon EOS 50D
2 items hot off the press — well actually one of these is no longer hot as I let this sit in my draft way too long. Canon has indeed released its EOS 50D last month. and is already making some news. This would be one fantastic upgrade… for previous Canon DSLR users. There is a huge jump in the image resolution to 15.1 megapixels and a maximum burst for 90JPGs, ISO expandable to 12800, Face detection technology! I was a bit surprise to see that the 50D didn’t come with a 1:1 CMOS conversion. Would have been nice but good still.
Google Chrome
On a slightly different note, sometime today Google is going to release their all new browser called Google Chrome. Whats with the name — they better have a good reason. But it does seem to proclaim some promising web features. The link below will tell you a lot about what it is even if you are not a web savvy or a part of a nerd-herd.
In simple words its a Internet browser which will be based on Webkit technology and will use underlying goodies of Firefox. The initial release is going to be for Windows only but Google will release mac and Linux versions soon. Here is the news release from Google blogs and here is a quick pictorial understanding of what Google Chrome can do for you. Some more links(thx Russ) to please your inner nerd-herd:

should be interesting to see if Chrome works more efficiently than FireFox and IE… if it’s faster than Firefox, since isn’t IE, then i’ll use it
It already does even in beta from the little play I have had in the last 2 days. I wouldn’t really compare it with IE though, that might be sacrilege.
It would be good to see the Mac version soon too.
Google Chrome is really fast!
Now I can sort 200,000 records inside of Browser (Chrome) just in 1 sec. (Faster than Microsoft Excel):
