The weekend has gone far too quickly in trying to sort out the odd chores. At long last I am going through our collection of music CD’s bought over the years… it is interesting to note how our music choice change over time. I am importing all the music into my iTunes, that way I would only have to synchronice the one place for any additions… I have gone through miles of CD’s and my eyes are sore from looking at the iTunes panel BUT — must admit, it does the job perfectly. So far I have collected 1027 songs… roughly 3.4GB!! There is a lot more to be done — soonish I hope they would all be ready in a clean, compact, high quality digital format.
As I was going through the old music CD’s I realised that most of the pre 2000 or so didn’t quite have the track info embedded in the CD’s, so for these ones you have to manually type in the info, Worth the effort though in the long run. The latter ones do it just right as per the music industry standards, and iTunes keeps all music info intact and readily searchable for you.
When all is done, I hope to pass on my music CD’s to anybody interested. The disks are going to be redundant, I’d rather share than horde.
Changing iPod from PC format to Mac format
Later in the day I also decided to format my iPod and take off Windows partitioning and make it mac compatible. Its really simple all you need to do it plug your cradle to the mac and launch itunes and plug the ipod in. There pops a 2 step wizard and you are done before you even know. The advantage of using Mac to sync iPOD is you are using a 64 bit architecture, way faster, and it doesnt require an external power supply, as iPods do with PC. Dare I say the file transfer is faster too. No, I am not biased though I know I am all for a mac. Try it out yourself or ask anyone who has used both platforms!
