Lawrence Leung

Lawrence LeungBetween the all so young and hyped netlovers of myspace and the telly watching yuppies am sure Lawrence Leunig isn’t just another face in the crowd. Surely not in Australia. Perhaps, not at all for those seeking live comedy especially if around Melbourne. Lawrence is only just 100 years young, full of beans, loves story telling, likes doing social experiments and has nerdy obsessions like puzzles, ghosts, solving the Rubik’s cube. Wait, did I mention puzzles?

Lawrence Leung writes and tells jokes…

Apart from being a writer and comedian, he’s also directed comedy shows, music video, mini-documentaries and has appeared on film, TV and radio.

We’re catching up on our TiVo backlog while the idea of something random & different sounded promising. Flicking through the tail end of The Gruen Transfer and then onto Lawrence Leung’s Choose Your Own Adventure – Love. Alright to be down-right honest, it was really entertaining. Unscripted to a point and somewhat nerdy at times but it felt raw and real. Loved it :) Now why is it that his face always makes me think I’ve met him at a Web Standards Group meeting somewhere sometime.

Other than the fact that I have tried the Rubik’s cube and only gone as far as 3 matching sides, I’m rather impressed at Lawrence’s effortless ingenuity. Damn! Gimme me the cheat sheet already :) but nah that story of finding Angela was brilliant. And the concluding song ties in perfectly. Just tell me you don’t wear the same green T-Shirt all the time. Everywhere. :)

Bring on the next installment.
