I toyed with the idea if i should really write this entry and after two days of discernment I’m happy to say I decided for it. The reason for my dilemma is merely because this is fairly personal to me. But better judgement prevailed. Most that i write here is personal anyway so how does it matter? I bought ‘The Zen of CSS design’ during the WE05 conference. This book was co-authored by Dave Shea and Molly Holzschlag. And while Molly was right here in Sydney I decided to get it signed by her. I have never got a book signed before partly because of my belief of the fact that authors, at the end of the day, are mere mortals too. I just don’t see myself falling prostrate for them
BUT with a few exceptions. I simply adore Molly’s passion for life, her zest and enthusiasm for making a difference. I admire the way she speaks right out of her heart and the way she writes her blog and the many that attack her (you’d know this if you read her blog) only leaving her more un-deterred :). The way she carries herself and above all the humble being she is even though she has been coined “one of the greatest digerati” and deemed one of the Top 25 Most Influential Women on the Web. Yet her humbleness and human-ness is touching! There is something about her thats totally charismatic, totally touching!
I was very fortunate to spend a few moments with Molly during her short visit here in Sydney for the WE05 Conference. Our chats though brief were tremendously eclectic, absolutely non-mainstream and so far from the typical run of the mill. What was very touching too was her little note for me that has left an indelibel mark… you rock Molly. I truly adore you. You are an amazing soul!
The Transcript goes as follows:
To Amit,
A man who understands that love can transcend the boundaries of the imposition of fear based ideas is a man who can be truly strong for he knows that an open heart is a strong heart and that from that strength can come a better way of life for all. Amit, you are that man, and through your love, all who know you shall be changed.
with love always,
Molly

Amit, I am so jealous. I love the idea of getting my books signed by the authors - and the only book I brought along or bought there that didn’t end up signed was Molly’s.
It was fantastic meeting you in person - looking forward to seeing more of your awesome photos and of course meeting up again at WE06!
