My first Tupperware party

Up until Sunday the 1st of June 2008 I truly was a Tupperware Virgin. I knew what they meant and had heard good reviews from Tupperware converts and people that used them but never ever held one in my hand or knew what they could possibly do and what life changing experiences they could bring about! It was nice of Adrian & Richard to invite us over for a lovely Tupperware party. Great experience and need I say that I learnt a few things. Having had done practically no research at all I was under the impression that I would find something nice to buy under $20.00 :) well! That was about to change soon! Although David had dropped in a hint to say they are not really your average run of the mill plastic. Yet I landed up buying a bit even for my first experience. The stuff is really good! Trust me :) Or maybe I’m easily convinced. But I’d like to think the former!

Well now that I am a bit more Tupperware aware I’ll try and mention what I liked about them. Tupperware is created from good food-grade plastic thats designed for a lifetime of use. The products looked really nice and feel good when you hold them. They are well thought through and made obviously by designers that have a good sense of the colour wheel, ergonomics, logic and kitchen & storing-space and are food-hygiene aware. Hence Tupperware is used more by people who love good food, good ergonomics and obviously a good lifestyle.

What did we buy?

Alright, so what did we buy? Well a few things… I was convinced enough. Rock ‘N Serve has been awarded the Product of the month. I couldn’t go past this to start with. Then there was the Handy Chopper and the containers for keeping vegetables fresher using controlled breathing mechanism — can’t remember the name for this one just yet! Delivery next week.

So there, we are no longer Tupperware virgins! In fact I’d be having a Tupperware party at my place soon. Hmmm still thinking what to serve, Tea with cupcakes or the equally nice home-made cinnamon tea cake that David makes so well! If you live around Sydney and want to come to a Tupperware party in July, here’s your opportunity. :)

    well… i’m pleased for you that your tupperware cherry is now bust… but $53 for a plastic thingy? even when i convert to pounds that feels expensive – but perhaps that’s because our plastic thingies always end up melting in the bottom of the dishwasher… tell me they don’t do that and i’m in… :-)

    Tracey and Ron – I can see that neither of you have been to a Tupperware party before! There’s a whole world of glorious plastic out there for you (and… it won’t melt in your dishwasher)

    I think you both should start the Tupperware revival in London :)

    Although i do desperately need of some good storage for food at home! :P

    When I agreed to it I didn’t know that it would be all over the web and public knowledge! But that was before I invited Amit. Seriously though, it was quite fun, and I can add it to the list of things I have done in life – once!

    Tupperware is awesome! A woman at work sells it, and I needed a new sport bottle for water, so I asked her if she sells them and I bought one. Then I bought bowls, then I bought fridge containers, then I bought a salad spinner, then a collander…I’m addicted! To anyone who hasn’t bought tupperware before, trust me. You can feel the quality just holding it in your hand. It doesn’t melt or warp or stain, or any of the other million things that regular cheap containers do. They sell dozens of items that are designed specifically for one purpose (ie. the forget-me-not containers that you put a left over half of tomato or onion or whatever in, and it hangs on the rack in your refridgerator, and you see it brightly right in front of you everytime you open the fridge, so no more throwing away half used veggies because you’ll remember to use them) You’ll have tupperware products for life. If they EVER get damaged, they will replace it…FOREVER…UNTIL THE END OF TIME. Just don’t loan it to anyone because they might run off with it!

    Tupperware is a wonderful product – but then I have to say it because I sell it!! It is a geat product because of the life time warranty on it – as long as you dont use it for something other than its specified use then its covered! it may cost that bit more than the crap you buy in supermarkets but it LASTS so its worth the money. There are heaps of different products and they are continually adding new products to their range!

    Jason and Beck, I totally love it. I am using it everyday now and find it hard to go back to using the ordinary plastic. Tupperware surely makes a difference. I cant wait to get more to sort my pantry out. It is SO worth the money!!!

    I sold tupperware for about 6 months and loved it. I am so addicted. I have about $3000.00 worth and I am still collecting. My freezer and fridge are so organized and my friends comment on my pantry because it is the biggest collection of modular mates they have ever seen. I have 4 children and they fight all the time over whos getting the tupperware when they leave the house.
