Getting up in morning is such a hard thing to do. Especially if its like 5:30am and then shower, makeup and look pretty all day. But we did our best and the cab arrived dot at 6:45am to take us to the airport. Virgin Blue counter looked a bit crowded already but one of the ushers moved us right on to the begining of a counter that had opened up just then. Oh nice! We sauntered up and exchanged greetings. He looked at us and said hello with a smile and said… oh must be the Tennis…(they had the tennis in Melbourne last week) David said nah we going to the wineries.
*pause*
Yarra we said almost in unison.
The check in attendant suddenly got animated like the switch of a button, the limp wrist action came about and he batted his eyelids and said. Ah who cares about the tennis. (another limp wrist action to close the sentence.)
*smile*
*more batting eyelids*
We got window seats and he wished us a safe journey three times with extra smile…
Onto security check and then right down to one of the many over-priced cafés for a quick bite. Soon it was time to board. Before we knew, we were on the flight. Having heard of the heat wave sweeping Victoria and the bushfires, we were not too sure what to expect… Just before we started our descent through the thick clouds over the Melbourne skies we could tell it probably was raining down there. And yes it was… Melbourne was wet and 23 degree! And we had mostly packed summery stuff!
