Lightly Toasted

I have been reading a lot of good things about Segment Publishing lately. I got great recommendations from Hicksdesign, Maniacalrage, Zeldman, Waferbaby and then decided to investigate further. I also realised that Waferbaby and Segment are brothers well that would explain Waferbaby’s bandwidth fetish

Later I got in touch with Jeremy Bogan who runs the show at Segment Publishing. Nan and I had been talking about developing a site for the good hard working passioante Rotarians at 7730, North Carolina. We got a domain name and hosting sorted out. We are hosting with Segment now!

Segment is not only a hosting company but also a design firm. They practise good design skills as is evident from their own website. Clean and clutter free. They strongly believe in complying to Web Standards laid out by W3C and certainly practice what they preach! It’s been less than a day and its hard to formulate any kind of opinion BUT so far to tell you the truth Jeremy and his team are so eager to please and extremely prompt with any queries I have had both BEFORE and AFTER placing my hosting order! We ran into a problem with change of Name Servers of a .info domain to a non US hosting company. Being behind the corporate firwall I couldn’t add user accounts and segment gladly helped me with doing all these little chores. Some of us might say, yea big deal. I think its great, It’s their eagerness to help and serve so accurately and promptly that makes working with them so much more fun let alone their consciousness about clean lean code and site simplicity.
