I am getting ready for a big move in a matter of few days to a week or two… I would be switching platforms. Mac OS here I come. After long discernment and weighing out my options I have made this decision and am really looking forward to this move. Perhaps the only thing that is taking time is the purchase. Wish they were cheaper! My eyes are more or less fixed on the Powerbook 17″/1.5Gz with 128MB Graphic Memory and 5400 rpm ultra ATA drive. To start with I would only have the 512MB RAM but will max it out in a few weeks hopefully.
A move to this order is expensive, and since its my first ever serious OS move, I would eventually have to buy all the software that I use on PC, well most of the basic ones anyway. I don’t have Photoshop for Mac and can already tell I would be on a decline for sometime. Again buying out just the Photoshop CS for mac isn’t a very good idea, so I much rather wait till I can get the Creative suite. And if you aren’t aware of the goodies that CS can bring in to your life, and happen to live in America or Canada fill out the free Adobe® Creative Suite evaluation DVD with 30-day tryout version.
The more I venture on the net to try find information about macs, I realise there is a huge mac culture out there. When you talk mac people are more friendly, they share, they help, they encourage and they care to listen and give you their bit of advice. A big thank you to Nancy Barbee, Ruth Gould, Dan Benjamin, Craig Hockenberry and Andy Budd. You have all helped me make my decision firmer and stronger. Like I said before… Mac OS here I come!

Excellent idea. I began the switch in early 2002, finally going 100% Mac (for my workstation and laptop, anyway - it’s a different story altogether with most of my servers) in mid-2003, and I have no regrets whatsoever.
Thanks Graham, I am looking forward to it…
