The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

The chronicles of Narnia‘ — C.S. Lewis’ timeless adventure, set in World War II England which follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings – Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter – who enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of hide-and-seek at the rural estate of a mysterious professor. They discover a charming, once peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the magnificent lion, Aslan, the children fight to overcome Jadis’(the white witch) powerful hold over Narnia that will free her from her icy spell forever. A movie well worth seeing and just as well it is the hottest movie of the month and the Holiday season.

Okie on a slightly different note… we also watched the “Broken Flowers“. The entertainment guide rated it as being the second most sought after movie this holiday season after the number one - “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. While the movie is not bad its a bit arty but there were places where I felt like getting up and giving Bill Murray a hand cause he took twice the time to think, act, speak you name it, but all the same its not a bad film just different is all.

I loved the C.S. Lewis books when I was a kid but was disappointed by the movie. I got bored after a while - the beginning was well done but I thought the battle scene tried to be too much like The Lord of the Rings and didn’t live up to it. Mum saw Broken Flowers - she liked it but said the ending was a bit wishy washy.

OMG thats is so true… the battle scene *so* reminded me of the Lord of the Rings and it felts like… yeah whatever… but then it kinda was not too bad other than that silly battle bit. I never read this book as a kid or otherwise LOL, so I felt the movie was bloody fantastic… don’t you be telling it was all crap! :) and with the Broken flowers.. you bet the ending was as rushed as the kid left the sidewalks after his cheese sandwich meal when Bill asked about his possibly lackluster father.. other than that… it was a good movie though…. I was a bit fidgety i think…

Yeah I agree - other than the battle scene it was good. I liked the beginning and how they found the wardrobe as well as Mr Tumness. Did you know it supposed to be an allegory for the Christian story? You should read some of the books - they are great.
