Five reasons why I blog you ask? There are many. Most of all is the joy it brings me to write and share photos with friends and family. Others are off-shoots of this very special one.
I really enjoy blogging though not near enough as much as I did before, partly because of time constraints and I find it more fulfilling to write something personal rather than being a pedestrian messenger broadcasting the same topic like a few thousand else on the internet. Really, do we need that many copies? Good composition generally take a bit more time to assimilate and present but when catered for usually make for an interesting read. Well, in most cases.
That being said I do write about technology at times but over the years I’ve found it to be a rather insipid way of engaging ones personal blog. And there are those blogs that are so intimate and overly lovey-dovey or just so cliché-d and stereotyped you might even barf past the first para. But then a lot of adults with mental age of teens swear by them. Oh so cool! Thats so funky dude! Yeah! Awesome!
Seems like I was falling through a trapdoor of depression there, but of course to each their own and there is nothing wrong with silly banter and little talk of Desperate Housewives. Oh I love Bree Van de Kamp. But, what I love most about blogging is the fact that it promotes devolved publishing, it puts power in the hands of people. This is a great way to explore and make ones voice be heard provided its for the appropriate reasons. Write something original, be youself, be brave to share your life experiences in a pleasant way.
Blogging is a great social tool, its a great way to share ones ideas, and in the hands of positive thinkers its the single-most great tool to change the present. “Blogging metaphorically is mightier than the sword.” Dare I say faster too! And on that note instead of passing a turd called meme I rather ask you here… why do you like or dislike blogs? Surprise me.

Amit,
The reason i come to your blog is personal as well as blog contents. As you said “Write something original, be youself” that’s the thing i like the most.
keep it up
Arun
Thank you Arun. Was great to see you in Chicago. Thanks again for your encouragement.
A very good reason indeed. That’s one of the things I too love about blogs. The fact that it gives everyone a voice!
I totally agree. My original motivation for starting my blog was to write about a topic which interested me but then I realised I wasn’t really an expert on that topic so couldn’t say a lot that hasn’t already been said somewhere else.
So it then evolved into a personal blog to share experiences and photos with friends and family. I find it much easier to think of something to write that way! I learnt something new from your post too - what a ‘meme’ is!
I do find some blogs very clever though - the way people can make quite mundane things and experiences very interesting and share really unique perspectives on ordinary life.
I’m also in awe of people in countries where there is censorship and lack of freedom of speech who are brave enough to write a blog to let the rest of the world know what is happening in their country.
