We’re back from a very short but rather exciting few days in Western Australia. Western Australia is the biggest state in Australia.
It was really nice to catch up with Holly, Dean, Rose, Adrian and family. My flight on Thursday night got slightly delayed due to strong head wind which makes travelling westward from Sydney almost always longer than usual. Since the flight was at night there wasn’t much to see but again flying at 11,000 kilometers above the surface of earth one wouldnt see much anyway. The little tv screen at the back of the seats told me in time I was flying over Esperence — a city that looked well lit a city which also known for its magical coastline. Soon it started to descend and we’re approaching Perth. A small airport. The arrival area looked like a little country town airport. A short walk on the tarmac, onto the carousel and then off to Grand Medina which would be home for three nights.
D was busy with work the next day so I decided to stroll downtown along Georges Terrace and explore a bit of the city. Went up and down the city roads onto Stirling Gardens, Bell Towers on Swan River an then back to Medina Grand through a quick stroll in the very quaint and olde world London Court. I love the cute bay windows with sunshade with blooming flowers from the small pots in the balcony. Across the mall there was more shopping areas but had to run back. I nearly spotted something I wanted to buy but decisions are so easy to make when one on a budget. We strolled out again. Further up from the city. Almost upto North Bridge or so it felt like, a nice big greasy Hamilayan lunch was in order for me after all that trudging uphill with my camera bag… D stuck to his old ladys healthy lunch. In the afternoon we went up to Richardson’s the most prestigeous hotel in town. Holly gave us a detailed tour of the place which included a quick peek of the Sandalwood, Tuart, Jarrah, Marri, Karri Suites. We then saw where P!nk stayed during her show in Perth. The very top of the range Kings Park Suite. Not much really just $1,800.00 per night! After a lovely tour of the Spa and the gym we headed down to Opus the in-house 5 Star restaurant where Holly spoilt us rotten… to the hilt. Absolutely divine company and ummmm what a divine meal it was…
