Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

It would be a good idea to tie all of Ruth and Andrew’s wedding related posts in one place. So here goes:

A walk in the park

Sunday, May 4th, 2008

Sometimes a nice long walk in the park in autumn can be just as refreshing as a whole day away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. That is exactly what we did this afternoon with Pam and it was such an invigorating experience.

What I particularly like about this photo is how it has the sun filtering through the trees. Those little pockets of sundance make it for me.

The Reception

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

It was about six in the evening when we walked back in the Boathouse Restaurant… the place was immaculately set and looked very nice. In the short time between the wedding and the reception, you’d remember me mentioning the sun being out followed by the promising rainbow — but by this time it was raining again. It started off with a light drizzle and kept alternating between heavy and light pours. We were inside chatting, congratulating, jubilating and having a good time… it was fun to meet so many of Ruth’s childhood friends and their partners some of whom I had met earlier in Sydney. Loretta & David, Katie & Gavin, Nick, Laila, Rebecca, John, Jake… the list continues. We got to meet a whole new circle of her childhood friends and Andrews family and some of his friends too.

The Wedding

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

It was three in the afternoon. We were at the Boat House in Noosaville mingling with friends, family and loved ones to share in Ruth and Andrew special day… such a privilege indeed. There was a vague hint of a rainbow in the sky. Soon we heard lots of smiles, squeals of joy and I could tell Ruth was about… that long awaited beautiful moment was upon us. The bride had arrived — she looked really beautiful and busting with joy from within… what a precious and memorable moment it was. The celebrant started in earnest.

Before the wedding

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Saturday was Ruth and Andrew’s big day. The ceremony was to be held at Maison La Plaga Grove in the backdrop of the Pacific ocean skirting the hills in the horizon. Noosa is truly gorgeous, you’d already know this if you’ve been up there… It poured on and off all day. We had wandered down for a walk earlier in the day to the Noosa Heads when there was a short respite from rain. The sky had cleared out as you’d notice in the photo below but in just about fifteen minutes from taking this photo we were running for shelter. It pelted down so heavy we gave the leisurely walk down Hasting street a miss and ran back to our car! Good thinking Ruth and Andrew for having an alternative arrangement in mind!

We’re off to Noosa

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Indeed, we’re off to Noosa for Ruth and Andew’s wedding and a short holiday! Life is too short to absorb youself in work all the time. Past week has been very busy on many accounts and to make matters worse I fell sick early on this week. It started off with a throat irritation like they always do and then landed up with a secondary infection in my throat. All drugged up, and hallucinating but should be OK soon. Touch wood.

An aerial view of Noosa head and a collage of 3 pictures of Noosa under the wide aerial pic.

The Ginger Room, Neutral Bay

Wednesday, January 16th, 2008

Given the love we have for food and dining out its almost impossible to pass up an opportunity and given we hadn’t seen John, Tanya and Pam in such a long time it was only fitting we caught up nice and proper.

We did pose for a quick snap, unfortunately it was long after dinner and coffee. The Ginger Room, 165 Wycombe Road, Neutral Bay.

Gold Star Weekend

Tuesday, March 6th, 2007

March 2007. Its officially Autumn, soon the clock goes back an hour. But the sultry summer is far from over. Saturday was a very hot 37° C up here in Hornsby. Sunday night we had dazzling claps of thunder for two long hours all around Sydney. What a spectacular display in the night sky but at times the shards of lighting felt like they’d land right next door.

Welcome 2007, Goodbye 2006

Tuesday, January 9th, 2007

Christmas came and went all too quick. Gusty cold currents from the Antarctic south landed snow in parts of Tasmania and even right down at Victoria where many bushfires were ablaze at the same time. It has been a bizarre summer, anything but hot and sultry baring a few occasional days when the humidity soared. Given how comfortably we abuse our planets eco-system this shouldn’t really come across as a surprise.
